South Florida vs. Houston: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Florida vs. Houston football game
Game Recap
The Houston Cougars were successful in their previous meeting against the South Florida Bulls, and they didn't afford South Florida any payback this time around. The Cougars came out on top against South Florida by a score of 54-42 on Saturday. This was the most points they've scored all season.
RB Alton McCaskill had only a few touches last week, but he got the ball a lot more this time and made it count. Houston's McCaskill was on fire, rushing for three TDs and 125 yards on 22 carries. QB Clayton Tune had a good game, too, finishing with two touchdowns.
QB Timmy McClain put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for two TDs and 289 yards on 46 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 46 yards.
The win bumped Houston's record up to 8-1. South Florida's overall record fell to 2-7.
The Cougars are staying on the road next Saturday to face off against the Temple Owls at noon ET Nov. 13 at Lincoln Financial Field. Houston will have the chance to boost their scoring average against a Temple defense that has allowed 37 points per game on average. The Bulls have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Cincinnati Bearcats at 6 p.m. ET Nov. 12 at Raymond James Stadium. South Florida will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 14.89 points per game.
