South Florida vs. Rice updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Florida vs. Rice football game
South Florida will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the Rice Owls at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday.
South Florida might have drawn first blood against Alabama on Saturday, but it was Alabama who got the last laugh. South Florida took a hard 17-3 fall against Alabama. South Florida's low scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the match before.
South Florida's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was DB Daquan Evans and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Rice at home against Texas Southern on Saturday as the team secured a 59-7 victory. With Rice ahead 42-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
QB JT Daniels looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 255 yards and four touchdowns. Daniels wound up with a passer rating of 268.4. The team also got some help courtesy of RB Dean Connors, who rushed for 66 yards and one touchdown.
While only Rice took care of their fans the last time they played, both teams pleased bettors by covering the spread. Looking ahead, the matchup is expected to be close, with they going off as just a 2.5 point favorite. They might be worth a quick bet since they're covered the spread the last three times they've played.
South Florida will be out to turn their luck around, while Rice will be hoping to grab another victory. Check CBS Sports after the match to see if South Florida can succeed or if Rice can keep it going.
