Stanford vs. USC Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Stanford vs. USC football game
Get ready for a Pac-12 battle as the Stanford Cardinal and the USC Trojans will face off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Stanford Stadium. After these two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
When you finish with 279 more yards than your opponent like Stanford did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They made easy work of the Colgate Raiders and carried off a 41-10 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7. RB E.J. Smith was the offensive standout of the game for the Cardinal, rushing for two TDs and 118 yards on 11 carries. Smith put himself on the highlight reel with an 87-yard TD scramble in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, USC was no stranger to outgunning their opponent yards-wise, either, with 538 yards compared to the Rice Owls' 280 last week. USC claimed a resounding 66-14 victory over Rice at home. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point USC had established a 59-14 advantage. USC QB Caleb Williams was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 249 yards on 22 attempts in addition to picking up 68 yards on the ground.
The Trojans' defense was a presence as well, as it collected four interceptions. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. Both the Cardinal and USC have easy wins in recent memory. We'll see which one's ego takes a hit when they face off.
