Stanford vs. Washington: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Stanford vs. Washington football game
Stanford will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the Washington Huskies at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. Stanford and Washington are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
Stanford gave up the first points and the most points on Saturday. They were dealt a punishing 42-7 defeat at the hands of UCLA. Stanford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Cardinal weren't very productive on the ground and finished the game with only 24 rushing yards. They were dismantled by their opponents in that department as UCLA rushed for 221.
Meanwhile, Washington put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Arizona State by a score of 15-7.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed nine in total. All those points came courtesy of Grady Gross: he added nine points with three field goals.
Stanford's defeat was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-5. That poor showing could be blamed on the team's lackluster offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Washington, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
While only Stanford took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. Looking ahead, the game looks promising for Washington, as the team is favored by a full 26.5 points. This contest will be their eighth straight as the favorites (so far over this stretch they are 3-3 against the spread).
Stanford lost to Washington at home by a decisive 40-22 margin when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Will Stanford have more luck at home instead of on the road?
