Syracuse vs. Clemson updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Syracuse vs. Clemson football game
The Clemson Tigers will stay at home for another week and welcome the Syracuse Orange at 12:00 p.m. ET on September 30th at JMA Wireless Dome. Clemson will really need to gear up for this challenge, as Syracuse will be their toughest opponent yet.
Clemson fought the good fight in their overtime match against Florida State on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 31-24 to the Seminoles.
Will Shipley put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 38 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Syracuse put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their contest against Army 29-16.
LeQuint Allen and Garrett Shrader were among the main playmakers for Syracuse as the former rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown and the latter threw for 245 yards and a touchdown. Allen is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in at least one in the last four games he's played. While his performance might not make the highlight reel, Brady Denaburg loomed large in the final result, having booted in three field goals and two extra points.
Syracuse's win bumped their season record to 4-0 while Clemson's defeat dropped theirs to 2-2.
Looking ahead to Saturday, Clemson is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by seven points. Anyone thinking of taking them against the spread should keep this in mind: the team hasn't covered the last three times they've played Syracuse.
Clemson didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Syracuse in their previous matchup last October, but they still walked away with a 27-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Shrader, who threw for 167 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Clemson still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
