Syracuse vs. Duke: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Syracuse vs. Duke football game
Game Recap
When you finish with 359 more yards than your opponent like the Duke Blue Devils did two weeks ago, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They came out on top against the Syracuse Orange by a score of 38-24. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
RB Mataeo Durant had a stellar game for Duke as he rushed for two TDs and 163 yards on 23 carries. This was the first time Durant has racked up 100+ rushing yards all year. Durant's sharp performance also set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season. QB Chase Brice didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but finished with two touchdowns.
Special teams collected 12 points for Duke. K Charlie Ham delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
A silver lining for 'Cuse was the play of WR Taj Harris, who caught six passes for one TD and 138 yards. That receiving effort made it the first game that Harris has posted more than 100 yards receiving.
Duke's win brought them up to 1-4. The defeat dropped 'Cuse's record to 1-3.
The Blue Devils are staying on the road last week to face off against the NC State Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. ET Oct. 17 at Carter-Finley Stadium. Duke will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for the Orange, they will face off against the Liberty Flames at noon ET last week at Carrier Dome.
