TCU vs. Texas: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the TCU vs. Texas football game
Texas has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the TCU Horned Frogs at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Texas will be strutting in after a win while TCU will be stumbling in from a loss.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Texas ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kansas State and snuck past 33-30. Having forecasted a close victory for Texas, the oddsmakers were right on the money.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Texas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adonai Mitchell, who picked up 149 receiving yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Baxter, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Texas, adding 15 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Bert Auburn: he added 12 points with four field goals, and another three kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, TCU couldn't handle Texas Tech on Thursday and fell 35-28. TCU has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, TCU had strong showings from Emani Bailey, who gained 93 total yards and two touchdowns, and Josh Hoover, who threw for 353 yards and a touchdown.
Texas' win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for TCU, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
TCU is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This will be their first time playing as the underdogs at home this season.
Texas came up short against TCU in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 17-10. Can Texas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
