Temple vs. Navy Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Temple vs. Navy football game
The Temple Owls need to shore up a defense that is allowing 37.45 points per game before their contest on Saturday. Temple and the Navy Midshipmen will face off in an American Athletic battle at noon ET at Lincoln Financial Field. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'
The evening started off rough for the Owls last week, and it ended that way, too. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 44-10 walloping at the Tulsa Golden Hurricane's hands. Temple was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 27 to nothing. QB Justin Lynch had a pretty forgettable game, throwing one interception with only 171 yards passing.
Meanwhile, Navy was close but no cigar last week as they fell 38-35 to the East Carolina Pirates. A silver lining for Navy was the play of RB Carlinos Acie, who rushed for one TD and 155 yards on six carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Acie has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season.
Temple have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 12.50 point spread they are up against. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the squad has let down bettors in their past six games.
It was close but no cigar for the Owls as they fell 31-29 to the Midshipmen when the two teams previously met in October of last year. Maybe Temple will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the matchup and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
