It has been a long week for the Texas Longhorns since losing to BYU on Saturday night, and the week just got a bit longer.
According to the Longhorn Network quarterback David Ash will not play against Ole Miss on Saturday night.
Ash left the loss against BYU with what was believed to be a head injury, and his status for Saturday's game has been in question all week. It is unknown how long Ash will be out.
While there hasn't been an official announcement from the school, Mack Brown did say earlier this week that if Ash couldn't play the team would be comfortable going with Case McCoy in his place. Which is both good and bad for the Longhorns.
The good news is that McCoy has plenty of experience, throwing for 1,831 yards and 13 touchdowns over the last three seasons. The bad news is that McCoy has thrown 10 or more passes in nine games for the Longhorns during his career. In those nine games Texas has gone 3-6.
Texas will also be without running back/receiver Daje Johnson, as Johnson injured his ankle in the loss to BYU as well.
