The Texas State Bobcats were the 48-17 winners over the Incarnate Word Cardinals when they previously met in October of 2016. On Saturday? They had no such luck. The Bobcats came up short against Incarnate Word, falling 42-34. If the result catches you off guard, it should: Texas State was far and away the favorite.
The contest pushed Texas State down to 1-2 and pulled Incarnate Word up to the reverse at 2-1.
Texas State will square off against the Eastern Michigan Eagles at 2 p.m. ET next Saturday at Rynearson Stadium. EMU is 0-1 after wins this year, and Texas State is 1-0 after losses. As for Incarnate Word, they will face off against the McNeese State Cowboys at noon ET next Saturday at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium. McNeese State is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 31-24 victory over the Southern University Jaguars on Saturday.
