Texas Tech vs. Kansas: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas Tech vs. Kansas football game
Game Recap
After losing to the Kansas Jayhawks the last time they met, the Texas Tech Red Raiders decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Texas Tech skirted past Kansas 16-13. The overall outcome was to be expected, but the Jayhawks made it more of a contest than the oddsmakers had predicted.
WR Myles Price hadn't helped the Red Raiders' cause all that much against the Oklahoma State Cowboys last week, but the same can't be said for this matchup. Among those leading the charge for Texas Tech was Price, who punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown -- a 70-yard rush in the first quarter -- was one of the highlights of the game. Working against Texas Tech was the performance of QB Alan Bowman, who threw one interception with only 117 yards passing.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed ten. K Jonathan Garibay booted in three field goals, the longest a 47-yarder in the first quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the contest.
Kansas' defeat came about despite a quality game from RB Daniel Hishaw Jr., who punched in one rushing touchdown.
The win bumped Texas Tech's record up to 4-6. The Jayhawks' loss pushed them down to 0-9.
The Red Raiders' regular season is over. Kansas will take on the Texas Longhorns at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at home. If the game is anything like Texas' 50-48 victory from their previous meeting in October of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
