After soaring to 41 points the game before, the Texas Tech Red Raiders faltered in their contest on Saturday. They have to be aching after a bruising 23 to nothing defeat to the Oklahoma State Cowboys. That's the first shutout Texas Tech has experienced all season.
Oklahoma State's QB Spencer Sanders did his thing and passed for one TD and 239 yards on 37 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 48 yards. WR Tay Martin also helped out with an impressive 130 receiving yards in the victory.
Special teams collected 11 points for the Cowboys. K Tanner Brown delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
The loss dropped the Red Raiders' record to 6-5. The win bumped Oklahoma State's record up to 10-1.
Texas Tech will square off against the Baylor Bears at noon ET next Saturday at McLane Stadium. Baylor is 6-2 after wins this year, and Texas Tech is 3-1 after losses. As for the Cowboys, they will face off against the Oklahoma Sooners at 7:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium. Oklahoma is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 28-21 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday.
