Texas vs. Kansas: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas vs. Kansas football game
The Texas Longhorns will be playing at home against the Kansas Jayhawks at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium/Jamail Field. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more against one another.
Texas put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 38-6 victory over Baylor. With Texas ahead 28-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Texas can attribute much of their success to Jonathon Brooks, who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns, and Quinn Ewers, who threw for 293 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for a touchdown. Ewers' performance was especially impressive as it was the first time he's posted a passer rating above 170 this season. Ja'Tavion Sanders kept the backfield interesting, picking up 110 receiving yards.
Texas' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Byron Murphy II and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Kansas put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their undefeated season alive. They walked away with a 38-27 victory over BYU.
Jalon Daniels did his thing and threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Daniels wound up with a passer rating of 183.3. Luke Grimm also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 4-0.
Texas and Kansas pleased both fans and bettors in their last matchups by winning and covering the spread. Looking ahead, Texas is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 17 points. This will be Kansas' first time playing as the underdogs on the road this season.
Everything came up roses for Texas against Kansas in their previous matchup last November as the team secured a 55-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Kansas' Daniels, who threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Texas still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
