Toledo vs. San Jose State Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Toledo vs. San Jose State football game
San Jose State have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Toledo Rockets at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Glass Bowl. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more against one another.
Last Saturday, San Jose State was fully in charge , breezing past Cal-Poly 59-3 at home. With that victory, San Jose State brought their scoring average up to 34.7 points per game.
San Jose State can attribute much of their success to QB Chevan Cordeiro, who threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns on 21 attempts, and RB Kairee Robinson, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Cordeiro set a new season high mark in carries with five. The team also got some help courtesy of RB Quali Conley, who rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Toledo's strategy against Texas Southern on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Toledo blew Texas Southern out of the water with a 71-3 final score. Toledo pushed the score to 57-3 by the end of the third, a deficit Texas Southern had no chance of recovering from.
Toledo can attribute much of their success to RB Peny Boone, who rushed for 39 yards and three touchdowns, and QB Dequan Finn, who threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns on 17 attempts. TE Dalton Andrews did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of three receiving yards.
San Jose State and Toledo pleased both fans and bettors in their last contests by winning and covering the spread. Looking ahead, Toledo is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by eight points. They finished last season with a 5-8 record against the spread.
Their wins bumped the Spartans to 1-2 and the Rockets to 1-1. Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports to find out who keeps up the positive energy and who hits a stumbling block.
