Arkansas State extended their game-winning streak to three on Saturday. They blew past UMass 52-28. With Arkansas State ahead 31-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Jaylen Raynor had a dynamite game for Arkansas State, throwing for 383 yards and six touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Arkansas State also got help from Adam Jones who showed off his sure hands for 105 receiving yards.
Arkansas State's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Javante Mackey and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Troy's and Georgia State's match on Saturday was close at halftime, but Troy turned on the heat in the second half with 22 points. Troy was the clear victor by a 28-7 margin over Georgia State. With that victory, Troy brought their scoring average up to 26 points per game.
Troy's win was the culmination of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kimani Vidal, who rushed for 76 yards, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Taylor, who rushed for 69 yards on only nine carries.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 3-2.
Arkansas State and Troy pleased both fans and bettors in their last matches by winning and covering the spread.
