Troy vs. UTSA updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Friday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Troy vs. UTSA football game
The Troy Trojans and the UTSA Roadrunners have had some time off and are no doubt ready to hit the field. Bowl season is underway, and Troy and UTSA will compete for postseason bragging rights in the Cure Bowl at Exploria Stadium at 3 p.m. ET on Friday. Both teams have set a high bar for this game after stand-out offensive performances in their previous games.
The Trojans didn't have too much trouble with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at home two weeks ago as they won 45-26. Troy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but RB DK Billingsley led the charge as he punched in three rushing touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the North Texas Mean Green typically have all the answers at home, but two weeks ago UTSA proved too difficult a challenge. UTSA was the clear victor by a 48-27 margin over the Mean Green. It was another big night for the Roadrunners' QB Frank Harris, who passed for four TDs and 341 yards on 37 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 49 yards.
This next game is expected to be close, with the Trojans going off at just a 2-point favorite. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (5-1), so they might be worth a quick bet.
A couple stats to keep an eye on: Troy comes into the matchup boasting the 13th fewest touchdowns allowed in the nation at 28. But the Roadrunners rank sixth in the nation when it comes to overall offensive touchdowns, with 61 on the season. These opposing strengths should make for an exciting matchup.
