Tulsa vs. Houston updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Friday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Tulsa vs. Houston football game
Game Recap
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Houston Cougars' strategy against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Friday. The Cougars put a hurting on Tulsa on the road to the tune of 45-10. That's another feather in the cap for Houston, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Houston's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 28 points in the first half. Tulsa wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 28-3 heading into the break. The Houston defense was impenetrable in the third quarter, shutting them out and essentially clinching the contest.
RB Alton McCaskill was the offensive standout of the matchup for Houston, punching in three rushing touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns McCaskill has had all year. Houston's S Gervarrius Owens got in on the action, too, converting a pick in the third quarter into a touchdown.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Golden Hurricane, but QB Davis Brin led the way with one touchdown. The contest brought the Cougars to 4-1 and dropped Tulsa to a mirror-image 1-4.
Houston will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Benson Field at Yulman Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET next Thursday. As for Tulsa, they will go up against the Memphis Tigers at 9 p.m. ET next week at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
