UAB vs. Rice: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UAB vs. Rice football game
The UAB Blazers are 4-0 against the Rice Owls since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success next Saturday. The Blazers and Rice will face off in a Conference USA battle at 3:30 p.m. ET at Protective Stadium. UAB will be strutting in after a win while Rice will be stumbling in from a defeat.
UAB kept a clean sheet against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles on Saturday and took the matchup 34 to nothing. The team accrued 31 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory. Among those leading the charge for UAB was RB DeWayne McBride, who rushed for one TD and 137 yards on 17 carries.
Meanwhile, the evening started off rough for the Owls on Saturday, and it ended that way, too. They took a serious blow against the UTSA Roadrunners, falling 45 to nothing. Rice was in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 31 to nothing.
The Blazers are now 5-2 while Rice sits at 2-4. A pair of defensive stats to keep an eye on: UAB is stumbling into the contest with the 216th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 13 on the season. Rice has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 242nd worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 18 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
