UCF vs. Connecticut: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UCF vs. Connecticut football game
The UCF Knights are 4-1 against the Connecticut Huskies since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Knights will look to defend their home turf against UConn at 4 p.m. ET. Neither team wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable defeat.
UCF has to be aching after a bruising 55-28 loss to the SMU Mustangs last week. UCF was down 45-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. UCF's loss came about despite a quality game from RB Mark-Antony Richards, who rushed for two TDs and 104 yards on eight carries. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Richards' 58-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter. Richards' sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
UConn suffered a bitter loss last week, failing to capitalize on an early lead against the Clemson Tigers. UConn was pulverized by Clemson 44-7. The Huskies were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 30-7.
The Knights are the favorite in this one, with an expected 30.5-point (!) margin of victory. But bettors beware: they are only 2-5 against the spread when favored.
The losses put UCF at 6-4 and UConn at 1-9. A pair of defensive stats to keep an eye on: UCF is stumbling into the matchup with the 212th most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 19 on the season. The Huskies have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 237th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 23 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
