UL Monroe vs. Troy: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisiana-Monroe vs. Troy football game
Troy will be playing the full four quarters on Saturday, but they're expected to have things wrapped up well before that. They will head out on the road to face off against the UL Monroe Warhawks at 2:00 p.m. ET at JPS Field at James L. Malone Stadium. UL Monroe is crawling into this match hobbled by seven consecutive losses, while Troy will bounce in with six consecutive wins.
Troy gave up the first points last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They took down South Alabama 28-10. That's two games straight that Troy has won by exactly 18 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Troy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Lewis, who picked up 120 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Gunnar Watson also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for UL Monroe, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 24-7 loss to Southern Miss on Saturday.
UL Monroe's loss came about despite a quality game from Dariyan Wiley, who picked up 137 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wiley was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 68 yards.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: UL Monroe's victory pushed their record up to 2-7, while Troy's defeat dropped theirs down to 7-2.
As mentioned, Troy is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 21.5 points. This contest will be their fifth straight as the favorites (so far over this stretch they are 4-0 against the spread).
Troy strolled past UL Monroe when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a score of 34-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for Troy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
