Live scores, highlights and updates from the Massachusetts vs. Connecticut football game
3rd Quarter Report
UConn is on the road but looking no worse for wear. They have a bit of a cushion as they currently lead UMass 25-6.
UConn have yet to string together two consecutive wins, but this may be their chance. For now, things are looking good for them.
Preview
The UConn Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the UMass Minutemen at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Despite being away, UConn is looking at a 2.5-point advantage in the spread.
UConn can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 31-3 win over Sacred Heart. The win was just what UConn needed coming off of a 44-6 loss in their prior game.
UConn can attribute much of their success to Ta'Quan Roberson, who threw for 201 yards and four touchdowns. Camryn Edwards and his 90 yards on the ground were also a key factor in UConn's victory.
Meanwhile, UMass was expected to have a tough go of it on Saturday, and, well, they did. Their painful 49-25 defeat to Liberty might stick with them for a while. UMass has struggled against Liberty recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, UMass had strong showings from Gino Campiotti, who picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Kay'Ron Adams, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown.
UConn's win lifted them to 2-9 while UMass' defeat dropped them down to 3-8.
UConn strolled past UMass when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a score of 27-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for UConn since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
