Southern California quarterback Max Wittek won't be a Trojans quarterback much longer.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Wittek will not participate in USC practices this spring, and will instead graduate following the semester and transfer. Per NCAA rules, as a graduate, Wittek would not be forced to sit out a season before being eligible to play.

Which means that Wittek, who has two years of eligibility remaining, could transfer to a school this summer and be ready to play right away.

“I had talked to Coach [Steve Sarkisian] a couple of times,” Wittek told the Times . “What it really came down to was a feel for me…. Getting my degree from such a great university will mean a lot, and ultimately, allowing me to play right away with two years to play was the best way to go.”

Wittek has not spoken to any schools and isn't sure where he'll end up playing, but says he'll be "open to anything."

Wittek came to USC as a four-star member of its 2011 recruiting class. He took over the starting job from Matt Barkley in 2012 after Barkley was injured, but split time with Cody Kessler for the first two games of 2013 before Kessler took over for good.

In his two seasons with the Trojans Wittek threw for 600 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions.
