Live scores, highlights and updates from the USC vs. Oregon State football game
Game Recap
The Oregon State Beavers lost to the USC Trojans when the teams previously met three seasons ago, but they didn't allow USC the same satisfaction this time around. The Beavers enjoyed a cozy 45-27 win over USC on Saturday. The victory came about even with Oregon State handicapping themselves with 145 penalty yards.
The matchup started off well for Oregon State, whose offense put up 21 first-half points. USC wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 21-17 heading into the break. The offense for Oregon State continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 24 points to put the game away.
The Beavers relied on the efforts of RB B.J. Baylor, who rushed for one TD and 158 yards on 23 carries, and QB Chance Nolan, who passed for four TDs and 213 yards on 19 attempts in addition to picking up 57 yards on the ground. WR Tyjon Lindsey was in the mix, too, providing Oregon State with two touchdowns.
Oregon State's defense was a presence as well, as it collected three interceptions and one fumble. Those interceptions were spread across their defensive unit.
USC's defeat came about despite a quality game from RB Keaontay Ingram, who punched in two rushing touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Ingram has had all year.
The win improved Oregon State's record to 3-1. The loss dropped USC back to even at 2-2.
The Beavers will be playing at home against the Washington Huskies at 9 p.m. ET next Saturday. Oregon State is 2-0 after wins this season, Washington 1-0. As for the Trojans, they will face off against the Colorado Buffaloes at 2 p.m. ET next Saturday at Folsom Field. Like USC, Colorado is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 35-13 to the Arizona State Sun Devils.
