Utah State vs. UNLV: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Utah State vs. UNLV football game
The Utah State Aggies have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. The Aggies and the UNLV Rebels will face off in a Mountain West battle at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. UNLV should still be riding high after a big win, while Utah State will be looking to right the ship.
Utah State has to be hurting after a devastating 35-7 defeat at the hands of the Weber State Wildcats two weeks ago. Utah State was down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, UNLV's game against the North Texas Mean Green last week was close at halftime, but the Rebels turned on the heat in the second half with 35 points. Everything went UNLV's way against North Texas as they made off with a 58-27 victory. The oddsmakers were on UNLV's side, but they didn't give the squad enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. RB Aidan Robbins had a dynamite game for UNLV; he rushed for three TDs and 227 yards on 29 carries. Robbins' longest run was for 59 yards in the fourth quarter.
Utah State is now 1-2 while the Rebels sit at a mirror-image 2-1. A couple stats to keep an eye on: The Aggies enter the contest having picked the ball off six times, good for eighth in the nation. But UNLV enters the matchup with only one thrown interception, good for 17th best in the nation. We'll see which of these strengths -- offense or defense -- will win out.
