Utah State vs. Wyoming: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Utah State vs. Wyoming football game
Game Recap
When you finish with 223 more yards than your opponent like the Wyoming Cowboys did on Saturday, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They put the hurt on the Utah State Aggies with a sharp 44-17 victory. Utah State can consider this payback for the 26-21 loss they dealt the Cowboys the last time the teams encountered one another November of 2019.
The matchup started off well for Wyoming, whose offense put up 24 first-half points. Utah State countered with 17 points. Wyoming put the game away in the third quarter with 17 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
Wyoming's RB Titus Swen was on fire, rushing for two TDs and 169 yards on 15 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Swen's 98-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter. Swen's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season. QB Levi Williams had a good game, too, finishing with two touchdowns.
Special teams collected 14 points for the Cowboys. K John Hoyland delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game. One of the most memorable scores? A 99-yard kickoff return for touchdown from CB Cameron Stone in the first quarter.
A silver lining for the Aggies was the play of QB Logan Bonner, who passed for two TDs and 181 yards on 40 attempts in addition to picking up 46 yards on the ground.
The win improved Wyoming's record to 6-5. The defeat dropped Utah State's record to 8-3.
Wyoming will square off against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at 3 p.m. ET next Saturday at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium. Hawaii took a loss in their last game and are no doubt out to reverse Wyoming's good fortune. As for Utah State, they will go up against the New Mexico Lobos at 1 p.m. ET next Friday at Dreamstyle Stadium. New Mexico is hoping for a better outcome this contest after a 27 to nothing defeat to the Boise State Broncos.
