UTSA vs. UAB updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UTSA vs. UAB football game
The UAB Blazers will head out on the road to face off against the UTSA Roadrunners at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Alamodome. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
UAB's four-game losing streak finally came to an end on Saturday. They put the hurt on South Florida with a sharp 56-35 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.
UAB relied on the efforts of Jacob Zeno, who threw for 353 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes, and Jermaine Brown Jr., who rushed for 116 yards and four touchdowns. That's the first time this season that Brown Jr. rushed for 100 or more yards. Tejhaun Palmer did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 119 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for UTSA, as they earned their first road win of the season. They strolled past Temple with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 49-34.
Frank Harris looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75.8% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Robert Henry, who rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Their wins bumped UAB to 2-4 and UTSA to 2-3.
Not only did both teams in this Saturday's matchup win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. Looking ahead, UTSA is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by nine points. UAB might be worth a quick bet since they've covered the spread the last three times they've played UTSA.
UAB came up short against UTSA in their previous matchup last November, falling 44-38. UAB will need to keep their eye on UTSA's Harris, who just threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns the last time he played. Will he have another big game against UAB, or will the team keep him contained? There's only one way to find out.
