Virginia vs. Virginia Tech updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Virginia vs. Virginia Tech football game
Game Recap
The Virginia Cavaliers had a rough go of it last December when they matched up with the Virginia Tech Hokies and had to endure more of the same on Saturday. Virginia didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 29-24 to Virginia Tech. The Cavaliers didn't live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the 7-point advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game.
QB Braxton Burmeister continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, passing for one TD and 141 yards on 14 attempts in addition to picking up 115 yards on the ground and snatching one receiving TD. This was the first time Burmeister has racked up 100+ rushing yards all year. WR Tayvion Robinson was in the mix, too, providing Virginia Tech with two touchdowns.
Virginia's loss came about despite a quality game from QB Brennan Armstrong, who passed for one TD and 400 yards on 46 attempts in addition to punching in two rushing touchdowns.
The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 6-6. With that, the Coastal Division playoffs come to an end.
