Wake Forest vs. Florida State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wake Forest vs. Florida State football game
Florida State has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium. Florida State has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 118 points over their last three games.
Florida State's offense rose to the challenge against a Blue Devils defense that boasted an average of only 9.83 points allowed. Florida State enjoyed a cozy 38-20 win over Duke on Saturday.
Jordan Travis was his usual excellent self, throwing for 268 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Wake Forest had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 21-17 W over Pittsburgh on Saturday. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but Wake Forest was the better team in the second half.
Wake Forest can attribute much of their success to Demond Claiborne, who rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns.
Wake Forest was down by four with only 40 seconds left when they drove 48 yards for the winning score. Santino Marucci hit Cameron Hite from 15 yards out and that was all she wrote.
Florida State's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.6 points per game. As for Wake Forest, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Not only did both teams in this Saturday's contest win their last matches, they also took care of their bettors and covered the spread. Looking forward, the game looks promising for Florida State, as the team is favored by a full 20.5 points. Wake Forest might be worth a quick bet since they've covered the spread the last three times they've played Florida State.
Florida State came up short against Wake Forest in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 31-21. Can Florida State avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
