Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wake Forest vs. Georgia Tech football game
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. ET at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium. Wake Forest are coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Wake Forest gave up the first points last Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 27-24 victory over Old Dominion.
WR Taylor Morin was the offensive standout of the match as he picked up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Morin's biggest highlight was a 48-yard reception that he brought in for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. QB Mitch Griffis also helped out by tossing the rock for 312 yards.
Wake Forest's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB ten times. Leading the way was LB Jacob Roberts and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, the evening started off rough for Georgia Tech on Saturday and it ended that way too. Things couldn't have gone much worse for them as they lost 48-23 to Ole Miss. Georgia Tech were down 24-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
QB Haynes King put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown. It was a true group effort though, as the team also got help from WR Eric Singleton Jr., who picked up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown.
While only Georgia Tech took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. Looking ahead, Wake Forest are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by four points. This contest will be their third straight as the favorites (a stretch that saw them go 1-2 against the spread).
Wake Forest's victory bumped their season record to 3-0 while Georgia Tech's defeat dropped theirs to 1-2. We'll see if Wake Forest can repeat their recent success, or if Georgia Tech bounce back and reverse their fortunes.
