On his way to helping blast No. 8 Washington State on Friday night, California quarterback Ross Bowers contributed the highlight of the night, likely the weekend and possibly one of the best plays you will see this season.
Facing 3rd and Goal from the Wazzu 7-yard line and looking to put his team up 24 points at home against a top-10 opponent, Bowers took off and headed straight for the end zone.
As Bowers approached the goal line, he jumped into the air and was hit not once but twice, flipping his body a full 360 degrees vertically. He may have landed on his feet had a defender not been directly underneath him upon his return to Earth.
What marked the first rushing touchdown of Bowers' career likely comes with some extra-high marks from his mother, who just so happens to be the former gymnastics coach at Washington.
Cal entered Friday night's game 1-52-1 against opponents ranked in the top 10 of the AP Top 25 dating back to 1978.
