Western Kentucky vs. Liberty updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Tuesday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Western Kentucky vs. Liberty football game
Western Kentucky is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Liberty is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will take on the Liberty Flames at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Coming off a loss in a game Western Kentucky was expected to win, they now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
Western Kentucky might've scored the first points on Tuesday, but it was Jacksonville State who claimed the real prize. Western Kentucky fell just short of Jacksonville State by a score of 20-17.
The losing side was boosted by Austin Reed, who threw for 250 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Liberty's game on Tuesday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 42-35 win over Middle Tennessee.
Quinton Cooley and Kaidon Salter were among the main playmakers for Liberty as the former rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns and the latter rushed for 160 yards while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Cooley is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Liberty's win bumped their season record to 7-0 while Western Kentucky's loss dropped theirs to 4-3.
While only Western Kentucky took care of their fans the last time they played, neither team managed to cover. Going forward, Liberty is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by two points. This will be Western Kentucky's first time playing as the underdogs at home this season.
