Western Michigan vs. Ball State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Western Michigan vs. Ball State football game
Ball State has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Western Michigan Broncos at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Waldo Stadium. Ball State is expected to lose this one by a single point, so we'll see if that gives them a bit of motivation.
After soaring to 45 points the game before, Ball State faltered in their match on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Georgia Southern, falling 40-3. Ball State was in a tough position after the first half, with the score sitting at 23-0.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Cardinals had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 197 total yards. They were dismantled by their opponents in that department as Georgia Southern gained 530.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Western Michigan recently, and their match on Saturday only extended their losing streak to three. They took a 49-31 bruising from Toledo.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Jalen Buckley and Peny Boone. Buckley had a solid game and rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Boone did his best for the losing side, rushing for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 1-3.
In addition to losing their last games, both Ball State and Western Michigan failed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, the game is expected to be close, with Western Michigan going off as just a 1 point favorite. For those looking to play the spread, keep their opponent in mind: they have a subpar 1-4 record against the spread vs Ball State over their last five matchups.
