Western Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Western Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan football game
The Western Michigan Broncos haven't won a game against the Eastern Michigan Eagles since Oct. 6 of 2018, but they'll be looking to end the drought on Saturday. The Eastside and Westside will square off when the Broncos and EMU meet at Waldo Stadium at noon ET. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.
WMU simply couldn't be stopped last week, as they easily beat the New Hampshire Wildcats at home 44-7. With WMU ahead 28-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already. Their success was spearheaded by the efforts of QB Jack Salopek, who passed for three TDs and 252 yards on 23 attempts, and RB Sean Tyler, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to catching one pass for one TD and 76 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Tyler's 76-yard TD reception in the first quarter.
WMU's defense was a presence as well, as it embarrassed New Hampshire's offensive line to sack QB Max Brosmer seven times for a total loss of 48 yards. It was a group effort with zero guys contributing.
Meanwhile, the Eagles beat the Massachusetts Minutemen 20-13 last week. EMU's RB Samson Evans filled up the stat sheet, picking up 122 yards on the ground on 16 carries. That nimble footwork stands out as the first time Evans has hit the 100-yard rushing mark this season.
The Broncos are the favorite in this one, with an expected 5-point margin of victory. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last week might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.
When the two teams previously met in November of last year, WMU and EMU were neck-and-neck, but WMU came up empty-handed after a 22-21 defeat. Maybe WMU will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the matchup and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
