WISC vs. PUR: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Wisconsin vs. Purdue football game
Game Recap
The Wisconsin Badgers ran circles around the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, and the extra yardage (598 yards vs. 366 yards) paid off. Wisconsin put the hurt on Purdue with a sharp 45-24 win. That result was just more of the same for the Badgers, who also won the last time these teams played (Nov. 17 of last year).
Wisconsin started the contest off right with 24 first-half points. Purdue wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 17 to make it 24-17 heading into the break. Wisconsin's offense just added to that total in the second half en route to their big win.
Wisconsin's RB Jonathan Taylor was one of the most active players for the squad as he rushed for 222 yards and one TD on 28 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the matchup was Taylor's 51-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter. QB Jack Coan was in the mix, too, providing Wisconsin with two touchdowns.
The victory bumped the Badgers' record up to 8-2. The Boilermakers' overall record now falls to 4-6.
The Badgers will square off against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at 3:30 p.m. ET next week at TCF Bank Stadium. Minnesota is also hoping to continue their momentum after a win on Saturday. As for the Boilermakers, they will face off against the Indiana Hoosiers at noon ET at Ross-Ade Stadium. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
