Ben Bentil: Won't stay with Mavs
Bentil will return to the D-League following the expiration of his 10-day contract with the Mavs on Wednesday, Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
A big-time scorer at the college level, Bentil was the 51st overall pick by Boston in the 2016 draft, but the Celtics opted to part ways with the Providence product prior to the start of the season. Since then, he'd split time between a Chinese league team and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the D-League, compiling averages of 14.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in 13 contests for Fort Wayne. Bentil appeared sparingly in three games for the Mavericks, failing to record a point on 0-of-3 shooting in 10 total minutes of action.

The second-round pick was waived by the Celtics prior to the season. He subsequently headed to China before returning to the D-League in January. Bentil figures to have a hard time cracking the rotation, but the Mavericks may intend on giving him some extra run to see what he can provide.

Ben Bentil: Returning to D-League
Bentil has returned to the D-League after playing 11 games in China, Pacers play-by-play announcer Scott Agness reports.
A second-round pick in 2016, Bentil was waived by the Celtics in October before signing a deal with the Pacers a few days later. He was assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, but instead ended up spending the last two-and-a-half months in China. Now that he's returned to the United States, Bentil is expected to participate in the upcoming D-League showcase in hopes of catching the eye of an NBA team. Bentil, a versatile scorer at the college level, will likely have to prove his worth at the D-League level before warranting consideration for a 10-day contract.

Ben Bentil: Headed to D-League
Pacers coach Nate McMillan confirmed Monday that Bentil would be waived and start his professional career with the D-League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Scott Agness of Vigilant Sports reports.
The Pacers already had 15 guaranteed contracts on their roster, so the team only signed Bentil in order to retain his D-League rights. Bentil, a second-round pick at Providence, would be eligible to sign with any NBA team if he plays well enough in the D-League to attract interest.

Pacers' Ben Bentil: Inks contract with Indiana
Bentil signed a contract Monday with the Pacers.
The Celtics waived Bentil on Friday after he was unable to beat out either R.J. Hunter or James Young for a roster spot. While the Pacers were quick to scoop up the second-round pick, it's likely Bentil will be waived again Monday so that the organization will retain his D-League rights. Expect the forward to spend his first professional season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, the Pacers' D-League affiliate.

Celtics' Ben Bentil: Gets waived Friday
Bentil has been waived by the Celtics, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports.
Bentil, who agreed with the Celtics on a partially guaranteed rookie contract in July, will not join the D-League in hopes to land a spot on another team. The No. 51 overall pick out of Providence averaged a mere 4.0 points and 3.5 rebounds with 10.4 minutes per game throughout summer league play, proving unlikely that he would be a rotation player for the Celtics.
