  • Quinn Nordin: Let go Wednesday

The Patriots waived Nordin (undisclosed) from the reserve/non-football injury list Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Nordin joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May 2021, but despite being a part of the organization for most of the past two years, he has yet to make his NFL regular-season debut. The 24-year-old spent the entire 2022 campaign on the reserve list, and whether or not he'll be healthy enough to compete for a job somewhere in 2023 remains to be seen.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Reverts back to reserve list

Nordin (undisclosed) reverted back to New England's reserve/non-football injury list after clearing waivers on Monday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

After the Patriots waived him Friday, Nordin will not count against the team's 90-man offseason roster while on the NFI list. The 2020 undrafted free agent, who has yet to make his NFL debut, will have a chance to fully recover before potentially competing for a roster spot, be it in New England or elsewhere around the league.

  • Quinn Nordin: Waived by New England

The Patriots waived Nordin (undisclosed) on Friday.

Nordin latched on with the Patriots last year but dealt with an abdomen injury and never made his NFL debut. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, the undrafted kicker out of Michigan hasn't been practicing this spring due to a possible injury. In a corresponding move, New England signed Tristan Vizcaino, who worked out with the team during the team's minicamp this week.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Sticking with Patriots

The Patriots signed Nordin to a reserve/future contract Monday.

Nordin landed a spot on the Patriots' 53-man roster ahead of the regular season but was placed on injured reserve in mid-September before being waived by the team. He rejoined the team's practice squad in early December but didn't make any appearances during the 2021 campaign. The 23-year-old is known for his leg strength and could compete to serve as the Patriots' starting kicker during training camp in 2022.

  • Quinn Nordin: Re-signed to practice squad

The Patriots re-signed Nordin (abdomen) to the practice squad Friday, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.

Nordin was recently waived by New England after having been removed from IR, and it looks like the team always intended to bring him back to the practice squad as long as he went unclaimed. The rookie kicker will get to continue his development with the Patriots.

  • Quinn Nordin: Waived by Pats

Nordin (abdomen) was waived by the Patriots on Wednesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports.

Nordin was recently removed from IR, and the Patriots likely waived him with the intention of adding Nordin to the practice squad if he goes unclaimed. The rookie kicker is in no position to challenge veteran incumbent Nick Folk this season, as Folk has made 31 of 34 field-goal attempts.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Designated to return from IR

The Patriots have designated Nordin (abdomen) to return from IR, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.

Veteran kicker Nick Folk has been having a strong campaign for the Patriots, but he has been managing (and playing through) a left knee issue, with Cox suggesting that the move is likely is a way to get Nordin some practice reps while lightening Folk's load in the process. With that in mind, Nordin has a 21 day-window before the team would need to add him to the 53-man roster or have him revert him to season-ending IR if that doesn't happen.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Lands on IR

The Patriots placed Nordin (abdomen) on injured reserve Saturday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Nordin was inactive for the season opener, and now he'll miss at least three weeks due to an abdomen injury. Veteran kicker Nick Folk is expected to be New England's kicker for the time being.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Expected to land on IR

Nordin (abdomen) is expected to be placed on IR by the Patriots, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Nordin is already ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets, with Rapoport suggesting that the hope is for the kicker to be available by November. With Nordin sidelined, Nick Folk presumably will be promoted from the Patriots' practice squad to the team's active roster.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Limited Thursday

Nordin (abdomen) was limited at practice Thursday.

Nordin was added to the Patriots' injury report Thursday after logging a full session Wednesday, so it will be interesting to see if he approaches Sunday's game against the Jets with an injury designation. In any case, after the way things transpired last week, veteran kicker Nick Folk is a candidate to be promoted to the team's active roster ahead of Week 2 action.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Inactive for opener

Nordin is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Dolphins.

Though Nordin survived initial roster cuts, he'll sit this one out with Patriots having promoted veteran Nick Folk from their practice squad late Saturday.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Could be replaced by Folk?

The Patriots may activate Nick Folk from the practice squad to replace Nordin as the primary placekicker for Sunday's game against Miami, Ryan Hannable of WEEI.com reports.

Coach Bill Belichick said "there's a lot of merit" to calling Folk up before Sunday's game. The Patriots want to keep Nordin and may be worried about losing him on waivers, but he could end up a healthy scratch Week 1, or else relegated to kickoffs and long-distance attempts.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Lands roster spot

Nordin made the Patriots' initial 53-man roster, per Mike Dussault of the team's official site, while veteran Nick Folk is a member of New England's practice squad.

Nordin's leg strength presumably gave him the edge over Folk, but we'll have to see what, if any, other kicker moves the Patriots make as time goes on, now that Folk is on the practice squad. As things stand, Nordin is in line to kick behind a New England offense helmed by rookie QB Mac Jones. In that context, the UDFA out of Michigan profiles as a streaming fantasy option while New England's new-look attack gels.

  • Patriots' Quinn Nordin: Projected to win kicking job

Nordin appears to have won the Patriots' placekicking job over veteran Nick Folk, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The UDFA appears in line to make the team's initial 53-man roster. Nordin's leg strength presumably gave him the edge over Folk, but we'll have to see what, if any, other kicker moves the Patriots make in advance of Week 1.
