Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Finishes rookie season on IR
Mukuba (ankle) played in 11 regular-season games (10 starts) during the 2025 campaign, posting 46 tackles (including 0.5 sacks) and three defensed passes (including two interceptions).
Mukuba was selected in the second round of last April's NFL Draft and took on a big role right away as a rookie. He notched his first pickoff in his second game and logged a defensive snap share of at least 80 percent in 10 of the 11 contests in which he appeared. However, Mukuba fractured his right ankle in late November and subsequently underwent surgery, marking an end to his season. Mukuba should be ready for the beginning of the 2026 campaign and figures to reclaim his starting role in Philadelphia's secondary.

Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Lands on injured reserve
The Eagles placed Mukuba (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday, Chris McPherson of the team's official site reports.
Mukuba fractured his right ankle during the Eagles' 24-21 overtime loss to the Cowboys this past Sunday. His placement on IR means he'll be forced to miss at least the next four games, though considering he's undergoing surgery, it's unclear whether he'll be available to return this season, even if the Eagles qualify for the playoffs. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio told reporters Wednesday that Sydney Brown is slated to start at safety alongside Reed Blankenship (thigh) in Mukuba's absence.

Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Fractures ankle
Mukuba is set to undergo surgery after fracturing his ankle in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Cowboys, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
It's currently unclear whether Mukuba could return later this season, but per Rapoport, a decision is expected to be made during surgery. The rookie safety from Texas was having an impressive first year in the NFL, recording 46 total tackles, including 0.5 sacks, and three passes defensed, with two interceptions, over 11 games. While he remains sidelined for the foreseeable future, Sydney Brown is likely to operate as Philadelphia's top free safety.

Eagles' Andrew Mukuba: Suffers injury late
Mukuba appeared to injure his right leg in the fourth quarter of the Eagles' 24-21 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
Mukuba appeared to suffer the injury while making a tackle on George Pickens within the final minute of the fourth quarter, and the injury was severe enough for the former to be carted to the locker room. Mukuba will undergo further tests to evaluate the severity of the injury, but the rookie second-rounder is facing an uphill battle to play on a shortened week, as the Eagles' next game takes place Friday against the Bears. Reed Blankenship (thigh) also left Sunday's game due to an injury, and with Marcus Epps (undisclosed) on injured reserve, Sydney Brown could emerge into a starting role at safety.
