  • Drake Stoops: Suspension lifted

The NFL lifted Stoops' two-game suspension Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

If Stoops were to have signed with a team, he would have been required to miss two games to serve a suspension for violating the NFL's policy regarding performance-enhancing drugs. Now that the suspension has been lifted, Stoops will be able to sign with a team and contribute to it immediately. He spent the entire 2024 season with the Rams' practice squad and was cut by the team at the end of training camp in late August.

  • Drake Stoops: Let go by Rams

The Rams waived Stoops (suspension) on Tuesday.

Stoops logged an 8/74/1 preseason stat line on 12 targets across three games, but it wasn't enough for him to crack the Rams' 53-man roster. He'll look to catch on with a team in need of wide receiver depth, but if he does sign to a 53-man roster, Stoops will be forced to miss the first two regular-season games due to his suspension for violating the NFL's policy regarding performance-enhancing drugs.

  • Rams' Drake Stoops: Suspended two games

Stoops has been suspended the first two games of the 2025 regular season for violating the NFL's policy regarding performance-enhancing substances, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Stoops will have to miss the first two games of 2025, but he can still participate in training camp and preseason contests without restrictions. This development could negatively impact his odds of earning a reserve spot on the 53-man roster, though. He spent the entire 2024 campaign on the Rams' practice squad and wasn't elevated for a single game.

  • Rams' Drake Stoops: Staying in LA

The Rams signed Stoops to a reserve/future contract Monday, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.

Stoops signed with the Rams in early May as an undrafted free agent. The Oklahoma product spent the entire 2024 regular season on the Rams' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he wasn't elevated for a single contest. By signing a futures contract, Stoops will be on the Rams' 90-man roster when the new league year begins March 12, and he'll work with coaches during OTAs, minicamp and training camp in the hopes of earning a roster spot for the 2025 campaign.

  • Drake Stoops: Joins Rams' practice squad

Stoops signed with the Rams' practice squad Wednesday, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.

Stoops failed to make the Rams' initial 53-man roster Tuesday, but he's staying in Los Angeles after signing to the team's practice squad Wednesday. The Oklahoma product posted 84 receptions for 962 yards and 10 touchdowns during his final collegiate season in 2023.

  • Drake Stoops: Doesn't make team

Stoops was waived by the Rams on Tuesday.

The wide receiver went undrafted in April despite a solid senior season at Oklahoma in which he caught 84 passes for 962 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jordan Whittington and Tyler Johnson beat out Stoops for the last two wide receiver spots on the Rams' depth chart.
