Giants' Anthony Johnson: Waived by New York
The Giants waived Johnson (undisclosed) on Tuesday, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports.
Johnson spent last season on the Giants' reserve/PUP list due to an undisclosed injury. If the 2023 seventh-round pick clears waivers, he will be an unrestricted free agent and will be free to sign with any team. The safety last played in Week 18 of the 2024 season, where he logged three tackles and a pass defensed over 18 snaps in the Giants' 20-13 loss to the Eagles.

Anthony Johnson: Waived with failed physical
The Giants waived Johnson (undisclosed) with a failed physical designation Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Johnson was a seventh-round selection by Green Bay in the 2023 NFL Draft. He joined the Giants last season and got into nine contests, tallying five tackles and one defensed pass while playing primarily on special teams. It's not clear what caused him to fail his physical ahead of training camp.

Packers' Anthony Johnson: Snags first-career INT in win
Johnson had one solo tackle and an interception in Sunday's 20-3 win over the Rams.
Johnson got the start at strong safety with Rudy Ford (calf) ruled out Sunday. Johnson took advantage of the opportunity, playing on all defensive snaps and getting his first career interception off Brett Rypien on a pass intended for Cooper Kupp early in the fourth quarter. The rookie safety only had one tackle for the game, but that's more to do with Rypien completing just 13 of 28 passes. If Ford is unable to practice over the next few days, Johnson would figure to get the start once again in Week 10 against the Steelers.

Packers' Anthony Johnson: Gets into Saturday's game
Johnson (knee) saw action in Saturday's 19-15 preseason victory over the Seahawks.
Johnson did not make a mark in the box score, but he did take the field just a few days after injuring his knee. The Packers are unsettled at the safety position, and the rookie seventh-rounder stands a chance to make the cut.

Packers' Anthony Johnson: Sitting out practice
Johnson (knee) will not practice Thursday, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.
Johnson's absence is to rest the injury, which is not expected to be a long-term issue. The rookie safety is expected to fill a depth role in the secondary this season. However, he'll need to focus on his recovery first, so he can be ready to compete Week 1 against the Bears.
