Meyer (back) fired six innings of one-run ball Thursday, walking two and striking out four in a 4-2 loss to the Twins.
The 27-year-old turned in one of his finest outings of the season, indicating that he is completely over the ailing back issue that landed him on the disabled list. While this start was a step in the right direction for Meyer, it is important to note that it came against the offensively challenged Twins. The tall righty gets another favorable matchup in his next start against the Tigers -- who he pitched his only other quality start against this season -- so it wouldn't be out of the question for deep-league owners to double down on Thursday's success.
