Rendon (left shin contusion) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to July 11.
Rendon was in the midst of a 4-for-47 (.085 average) slump over his last 14 games before suffering the injury July 4, and he apparently didn't show significant improvement over the All-Star break. Michael Stefanic and Trey Cabbage were added to the active roster to bolster the Angels' infield in the short term.
