Mayfield flipped a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead with one swing of the bat after taking Corey Kluber yard in the fourth inning for a grand slam. Mayfield has nine homers in 43 games since being recalled by the Angels on July 6 but is slashing just .227/.281/.496 with 14 extra-base hits, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored, a steal and 7:31 BB:K. The 30-year-old likely had the biggest hit of his career Monday but has struggled to find success at the plate overall with limited action in the league since 2019.
