Athletics starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz suffered his second loss of the season Tuesday against the Angels. Pomeranz (1-2) allowed five runs (four earned) on eight hits and one walk, while striking out six in five-plus innings of a 14-1 loss.

Pomeranz tossed a scoreless first inning before the game started to get away from him in the second inning. He allowed a one-out, three-run homer to Johnny Giavotella. The Angels added a fourth run in the inning on a Marcus Semien fielding error, which allowed Kole Calhoun to score.

Pomeranz settled down after the rough second inning to post three scoreless innings before being lifted after allowing a leadoff double to C.J. Cron in the sixth inning. The Angels would score six times in the sixth inning after Pomeranz left the game.

Pomeranz, who has lost his last two starts, will look to stop his losing streak in his next start Sunday against Houston.
