Athletics starting pitcher Kendall Graveman is returning to the major-league rotation Saturday against the Rays to fill in for the injured Drew Pomeranz, who is on the disabled list due to a shoulder injury.
Graveman struggled in his first stint in the rotation before being demoted to the minors, but he said his time at Triple-A Nashville helped him with his fastball location, per InsideBayArea.com. He added he was able to increase the miles per hour between his fastball and changeup.
The right-hander went 2-1 with a 1.85 ERA in four starts for Nashville. He had 14 strikeouts and nine walks in 24 1/3 innings.
