Athletics starter Kendall Graveman took a tough loss on Saturday against the Angels. Graveman went the distance, pitching eight solid innings. He allowed just one run on eight hits, while striking out seven and walking none. He lowered his ERA to 4.22 with the terrific outing.
The only run Graveman gave up was a first-inning solo home run to Albert Pujols. He stifled the Angels lineup the rest of the way, but the offense was absent against C.J. Wilson in this one.
This was Graveman's third straight quality start, as he has allowed four earned runs in 21 innings over that stretch.
He'll look to maintain this string of excellence in his next start, scheduled for Thursday at home against the Padres.
