Diaz hit a solo home run off Packy Naughton, one of two consecutive blasts off the young left-hander. In addition, he drove in a pair of runs on a fourth-inning single. However, he is batting just .140 with a .499 OPS in his last 18 games. For the season, the 30-year-old is slashing .273/.332/.428 with eight home runs, 44 RBI and 28 runs scored in 295 plate appearances.
