Astros pitcher Collin McHugh took a step back with a rough outing, suffering his first loss of the season Tuesday night against San Francisco.

McHugh (4-1) allowed a bases-clearing double to Matt Duffy in the second inning and was charged with four unearned runs in the fifth. He yielded seven runs -- three earned -- on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 4 2/3 innings of work in an 8-1 defeat. Of his 91 pitches, 55 were strikes.

McHugh has allowed 13 runs -- nine earned -- over his last three starts (19 innings). He will look to get back on track Sunday afternoon at home against Toronto.
