Musgrove threw five innings in Thursday's game against the Mariners, giving up two runs on five hits while walking three and striking out two en route to a no-decision.
The 24-year-old got through the first five innings of the game with just one run surrendered thanks to a home run by Mitch Haniger, but when Musgrove came out for the sixth, he unraveled and proceeded to load the bases with Mariners. Michael Feliz managed to escape the jam with just one run, but it took Musgrove out of being in line for the win (although closer Ken Giles blew the game in the ninth anyway). This was a decent start to the 2017 season for the right-handed starter, although his control was lacking a bit (only 54 of his 84 offerings went for strikes). He'll look to improve his command in his next start Tuesday in Seattle.
