Alvarez (knee) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Tuesday's game versus the Marlins.

Alvarez had to depart Saturday's game versus the Twins after being hit on the right knee by a pitch and then sat out Sunday's contest. However, he's feeling well enough following the Astros' off day Monday to give it a go for the series opener against the Marlins.
