Diaz (hamstring) ran before Thursday's game against the Rangers and has a chance to come off the injured list Sunday, the Associated Press reports.
The team's official site adds that manager Mark Kotsay noted Diaz has actually been able to run for the last few days without any issues. The veteran isn't expected to require a rehab assignment due to the brevity of his absence, so a return when first eligible Sunday remains very much in play.
